Lookup Searches

Lookup Searches are available in certain fields that require a lookup in a table. Following is an example of a lookup search:

The entry field allows you to search through the table quickly. Once a record is found it can be selected by pressing the Enter key or by double clicking the left mouse button. To scroll through the grid using the arrow keys, PgDn, PgUp, Home, End keys, press the tab key to leave the search entry field or click in the grid. A lookup search can be exited without selecting a record by pressing the Esc key.

A Status Bar appears at the bottom of each screen. As you move through the screen this status bar will display help information specific to the field being entered.

Entry fields use the standard Windows conventions. If the contents of a field are "highlighted", any key stroke will replace the existing contents. If you want to edit the current contents, either press the right or left arrow keys first or click on the contents so that the contents are no longer highlighted.

To move to the next field, use either the 'Enter' key or the 'Tab' key. To return to the previous field use the 'Shift-Tab' key combination.

The Esc key is used to exit most of the open windows. If a record is active, you will be asked if you want to exit without saving. Selecting 'No' will return to the entry.
